We finally took a family vacation!!! We decided on San Diego mainly because of Legoland, since the kids absolutely LOVES Legos and all of their video games and such.
On day 1, we had to catch a 9am flight. After we landed and got our rental car, we drove to our hotel and headed to Seaworld. We got a great deal thru our hotel where everyone paid the kids 1-day admission price for a pass that's good until the rest of the year (though we're probably not going to go back to San Diego before the year is over). For everything else in San Diego, we got the San Diego Go Cards, which includes admission to a whole bunch of places, so it was a super deal! Mike even got the Go Cards for 30% off the list price because he's super sneaky. Here's our adventure:
At Sea-Tac airport bright and early Sunday morning to go to San Diego!
Jake and Jonah on the plane, so excited.
Kira happy with her apply juice. We had to move seats after this picture was taken because we were sitting behind the emergency exit row and the car seat can't be placed in an aisle seat.
Our awesome rental car, a Toyota 4 Runner. Though we were in California, this car had a Colorado plate, go figures.
The boys testing out their bunk beds.
We decided to go to Seaworld the first day. We caught the dolphin show first and sat in the "soak zone".
Little dolphin saying "hi". The dolphins were amazing, so cute and so smart.
Waiting for the Shamu show. Again, sitting in the "soak zone", by the boys' requests. The whales get you a lot wetter than the dolphins. Notice the people next to us with their plastic lap shield.
Kira was not so sure about getting wet again with cold salt water.
One of the killer whales doing an aerial jump right in front of us.
Kira got really anxious when the whales would jump and splash. She wanted me to hold her tight and she wouldn't let go of my arm, so cute.
Whale and his trainer.
Boys looking at sea turtles.
Jake and his flamingo impersonation. Flamingos apparently start out as little grey fluffy birds when they're babies.
The "Sea Lions Tonight" show. It was a comedy show where they make fun of all the other shows at the park. This picture was taken when they were mocking the dolphin show.
Boys with their glowing light sabers waiting for the night time dolphin show "Ignite". We did not sit in the soak zone because it was freezing and Kira was really afraid of getting wet.
"Ignite" dolphin show.
Boys finally going to bed.
